Abstract:Under the huge realistic demands in the current stage of infection prevention and control, telemedicine is bringing out the great market potential of interactive flat panel products.

As reported by CCTV News, on March 20, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China jointly held a video conference on the infection prevention and control for COVID-19 in Central Europe.

At the conference, government officials and public health experts from 18 European countries such as Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland were introduced about the work experience in the infection prevention and control for COVID-19.

The realization of diagnostic scenarios in telemedicine is based on the large screen and video conference function of the interactive flat panel.

Under the huge realistic demands in the current stage of infection prevention and control, telemedicine is bringing out the great market potential of interactive flat panel products.

I:  Great market potential of telemedicine

The concept of telemedicine was put forward long time ago, but its development was restricted by the network technology at that time.

The year of 2019 is called the first year of the 5G era which brings opportunities to telemedicine, while the outbreak of COVID-19 has further promoted the development and application of telemedicine.

As reported by Jiangsu TV, on the afternoon of March 17, Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine initiated transnational telemedicine.

By connecting to experts from the Germany Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the hospital shared its experience in infection prevention and control with TCM in order to help the overseas Chinese to fight against the disease.

Telemedicine is playing an important role in the international infection prevention and control for COVID-19.

The need for telemedicine is based on two important factors:

First, rebalancing of medical resources. Although the Chinese living standard has been greatly improved through many years of development of the country, difference of varying degrees still exists in medical level among different regions.

With telemedicine, however, the space constraint can be broken through, and expert teams can be called together to carry out remote diagnosis for regions poor in medical resources, thus to balance the regional difference.

Especially, during the period of the COVID-19 outbreak, the remote medical support for other regions by experienced medical teams directly fighting against the disease will have an important effect on the infection prevention and control.

Second, racing against time. For example, a patient in urgent need of treatment will need some first aid measures before the arrival of ambulance; in such case, remote guidance will be necessary.

In real life, when one is threatened by a disease, it is often hard for him/her to acquire timely medical support. Therefore, telemedicine is very crucial, which can even help the patient to get emergency treatment earlier.

According to an editorial article published by Xinhua News, digital tools, such as the widely applied Personal Health QR Code, Telemedicine, Online Office and “Work Resumption Based on Health QR Code” (Ma Shang Fu Gong) for enterprises, play an important role in the infection prevention and control for COVID-19.

The function of digital “infrastructure” is prominent from the decisions and arrangements of the government to the work resumption of enterprises and the operation of society.

Therefore, in the current context, telemedicine is in the course of fast development when considered from practical needs or national support.

II: Telemedicine, a new market for interactive flat panel

To meet the conference needs, the interactive flat panel provides basic functions such as touch writing, document presentation, electronic whiteboard and remote video conference.

These application functions based on conference scenarios can perfectly fit the diagnostic scenarios in telemedicine. Therefore, the market share of interactive flat panel increases significantly during the period of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Horion interactive flat panel is equipped with a 4K HD screen ensuring that video diagnosis is clear and fluent.

The 360° pickup microphone and the HD wide-angle camera guarantee that each remote diagnosis can proceed efficiently.

Xin Lijun, CEO of JD Health, said that the monthly inquiry scale on the platform had increased 10 times since the COVID-19 outbreak, reaching 2 million persons.

In his opinion, such change in consumer behavior would have taken five years or so. According to statistics of, there have been over 1,000 local remote medical companies in China.

The huge demand in the current context is bringing out the potential of telemedicine, while devices and high-speed network are two bases for the realization of telemedicine.

With the development and application of 5G technology, the need for high traffic and high network speed in remote diagnosis has been satisfied.

On the other hand, the development of devices is ushering in its prime time, and remote medical devices represented by interactive flat panel are facing huge market opportunities.

The competitive Horion interactive flat panel is based on the R&D strength of KTC Technology Group, building a full chain combining technological R&D, production and marketing.

It is believed that greater achievements will be made with the joint efforts of our nationwide partners and Horion staff.
